Does salt compress really get rid of joint pain

How a salt compress can improve your joint pain condition
In folk medicine, there are references to dry compresses, where salt is heated, poured into a cloth bag and applied to the joint. This can indeed relieve the condition, although not for long.

Heat expands the vessels and blood flow to the sore spot, relaxes the muscles, reduces pain and stiffness, increases the mobility of the joint.

For the same purpose, a salt compress can be replaced by a heating pad or just take a warm bath. Only it should be borne in mind that this is a measure for temporary relief.

In addition, heat should not be applied to an inflamed and reddened joint. In this case, it is better to use anti-inflammatory ointments or make a cold compress.
