Top films starring Emma Watson

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
USA, 2012.
Drama, melodrama.
Duration: 102 minutes.
IMDb: 8,0.
The film, directed by Stephen Chbosky based on his novel of the same name, tells the story of a shy high school student Charlie (Logan Lerman). After losing his loved ones – his favourite aunt and best friend – the boy is tormented by depression and guilt. But life gets better when Charlie meets Patrick (Ezra Miller) and his half-sister Sam (Emma Watson). Gradually, he grows up and re-learns how to communicate and love.

After the end of filming in “Harry Potter” Emma Watson announced her temporary departure from the profession because of the desire to devote time to travelling and self-education. But the actress liked the script by Stephen Chbosky so much that she changed her mind and plunged headlong into preparation for a new role.

So “It’s good to be quiet” became the first “adult” project Emma. The actress admitted that at the very beginning of filming still felt a part of Hermione inside. But still it did not prevent her to play a completely different character heroine – a high school rebel with a troubled past.

Especially for this role Emma made a short haircut – under the contract during filming in Potteriana she had no right to do it – and learnt to speak with an American accent.

The Bling Ring
USA, UK, Japan, Germany, France, 2013.
Crime drama.
Duration: 90 minutes.
IMDb: 5,6.

The main character Mark is a newcomer at a school in Los Angeles. His classmates are not eager to make friends with him, but the boy still finds a common language with the pretty Rebecca. True, Mark’s new friend has one strange hobby – she likes to carry other people’s things from cars.

Very soon it becomes not enough, and then Rebecca in the company of Mark and a few girls – Nikki, Sam and Chloe – starts to scour the houses of Hollywood stars. The grief-stricken criminals do not think about the fact that they can be caught, and at some point the situation gets out of control.

In Sofia Coppola’s film the main screen “smart girl” Emma Watson starred as an immoral and shallow girl Nikki, the limit of her dreams – to be behind bars with Lindsay Lohan.

Better understand this character Emma helped Britney Spears songs and such reality shows as “Hollywood Hills” and “The Kardashian Family”. The actress also started a blog on Tumblr and ran it on behalf of her character (unfortunately, it’s not available right now).

The film received restrained and even negative reviews from critics: it was talked about as one of the weakest in Sofia Coppola’s career.
