Is it worth drinking red wine for your health and how to do it
If you don’t drink – you definitely shouldn’t start. You can get polyphenols from other sources, such as coffee and tea, grape juice, and berries. It’s also not a good idea to buy wine for health reasons if you’ve suffered from alcohol addiction in the past or haven’t beaten it yet.

If you drink moderately and can easily give up alcohol without discomfort, try replacing your usual drinks with wine. But observe the following rules:

Choose red dry wine – it has the highest amount of polyphenols.
Consume no more than one drink a day if you are a woman, and no more than two if you are a man. For one drink is considered 14 g of pure alcohol. In terms of wine with 12% alcohol, that’s about 140g.
Don’t make up for “omissions”. If you have not drunk at all for two days, it does not mean that you can drink a triple dose without health consequences.
Serve wine with meals. Choose whole grain products, fruits and vegetables, plant-based sources of protein, fish and lean meats.
If you pour yourself another glass after a meal or can’t imagine dinner without alcohol, it’s time to stop.
